Israeli wrestling krav. Krav Maga: Israeli self-defense for the most violent

Krav Maga translated from Hebrew קרב מגע – “ contact fight».

Krav Maga is Tactical Close Combat System (MCCS) effectively combines self-defense and hand-to-hand combat. A practical and time-tested close combat system, designed to effectively counter aggression based on combat experience.

Kram Maga consists of technical actions and techniques that have been “tested” in real combat conditions. The emphasis in training is on quickly neutralizing a threat in a real situation. Krav Maga is studied modern views weapons in combination with self-defense techniques and hand-to-hand combat. The system gained fame after it was adopted by special forces around the world.

Equipment in battle

The main difference between Krav Maga and other types of self-defense is that all techniques focus on maximum effectiveness in real conditions. Based on the premise that there will be no pity or mercy when attacked, the response is aimed at neutralizing the threat and saving as quickly and safely as possible.

Emphasis is placed to defeat vulnerable points(including pokes in the eyes, a blow to the groin, biting, screaming, head-butting), as well as the use of any available objects (stick, stones, sand - these can all be weapons of self-defense). At the same time, the training shows how to soften techniques appropriately to the situation and emphasizes the need to respect the limits of necessary self-defense.

How the training goes

In battle, the one who survives wins... Therefore, the emphasis in the study is on fighting in worst conditions and disadvantageous positions, in particular: against several opponents, with one hand or while protecting a third person (for example, a child), as well as against armed opponents.

Training is carried out in conditions as close as possible to the reality of the street.

For example, for realism, loud music, electric stun guns, and devices for producing artificial smoke can be used, which allows you to learn to ignore distracting conditions and focus on analyzing the situation. To increase realism, exhausting exercises can be carried out before practicing defense. physical exercise, the training can take place on terrain with different terrain (asphalt, water, chilly sand), in cramped conditions, with a blindfold.

The emphasis is on simulating real combat as much as possible under training conditions.

How Krav Maga strengthens the human spirit

The greatest value in this system is the psychological preparation section, which allows students to strengthen their spirit. For this purpose, special methods are used, the purpose of which is to recreate a situation in which a person must fight for his life. Training includes developing the ability to assess the situation, terrain, and potentially dangerous circumstances before the start of combat. Students are shown physical and verbal techniques to avoid violence where possible.

In Krav Maga, there is no difference between training for men and women, young and old people, since the training emphasizes the natural reflex movements of the human body.

Therefore, the training is structured very simply and logically, which allows you to assimilate the material being studied unusually quickly. The self-defense system has earned positive evaluations and received recommendations from experts in the field of martial arts and professional fighters, as well as from army and police officers for its extraordinary practical use BUT, at the same time, it is also suitable for beginners with its simple, logical and realistic approach to ensuring personal safety.

Shimon Peres, President of Israel:

Two main dangers today- This is a war with the use of rockets (missiles do not respect borders) and clashes with knives (since terrorism also does not respect borders). In a missile war, technology is the determining factor; in a war against terrorism, it is personalities.

Imi Sde-Or, of blessed memory, developed the Krav Maga fighting method and strategy for it. This strategy makes self-defense possible even for people who are not necessarily on duty. Therefore, even if you are alone on the battlefield, the battle will not necessarily be lost. In today's era of escalating violence, this strategy is unsurpassed.

Krav Maga is one of the most interesting and developing martial arts areas in the world today. This is a hand-to-hand combat system adopted by special forces, various intelligence agencies, security forces and the Israel Defense Forces. Krav Maga in Hebrew means contact or close combat.

This system was developed by Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1930s, primarily to protect the Jewish community from attacks by Nazi militias. Thus, having gone from street fights through wars, intifadas, military, counter-terrorism and other special operations, having included in his arsenal a specific and practical set of techniques for striking, wrestling and many other martial arts techniques of the world, having absorbed excellent psychological preparation and a very original system training in extreme conditions, a full-fledged hand-to-hand combat system was created, which is now recognized throughout the world.

Initially, Krav Maga was based on hand striking techniques combined with wrestling techniques. However, over time, honed in constant real fights, it improved and began to include a large volume of techniques of many oriental martial arts, which were improved for this specific combat direction of hand-to-hand combat.

Krav Maga is designed for use in specific combat situations. Much attention is paid to ensuring that a fighter can master the techniques of Krav Maga in a short time, learn to survive and inflict complete damage to the enemy in battle. Krav Maga is designed for uncompromising, brutal and merciless combat with your enemy.

Pain points on the human body

All techniques of this martial art can be used both in defense and in attack. But first of all, they are aimed at eliminating the threat to life as quickly as possible with the subsequent neutralization of the attacker. Therefore, the emphasis is not on painful and choking techniques, but primarily on hitting the opponent’s vulnerable points (groin, throat, eyes, back of the head, spine). Attention is paid to the possession of various types of weapons and the use of any available handy objects to defeat the enemy. There is no point in listing them, we can only note that they are quite successfully classified into piercing-cutting, impact, and throwing; as well as objects that can serve as protection from blows, objects that can be used to perform choking techniques. And of course, liquids that can be used, for example, to temporarily blind or distract the enemy.

Unlike eastern martial arts, Krav Maga is not based on any philosophical system, but solely on practical experience. This martial arts, in which there is no time for Eastern philosophy.

Krav Maga is not a sport in which rules define permitted and prohibited techniques. Since there is no sports direction, there is correspondingly no special uniform. Most of the techniques taught by Krav Maga fighters are prohibited in combat sports, it’s easier to say: everything that is prohibited is allowed here.

Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has a controversial figure. Some people are annoyed by her big buttocks, while others are crazy about them. She maintains her figure in the following way: Jenny practices the martial art of Krav Maga, with which she perfectly works the muscles of the arms, legs, abdomen and buttocks. Krav Maga is a combination circular movements and some kickboxing techniques.

Let us note once again that this martial art was created directly for use in specific combat situations for special forces, army and police. Therefore, training takes place depending on the specifics of the activity of a particular power structure, in conditions close to real combat situations, with maximum loads and the use of various types of special equipment. Much attention is paid to the psychological and moral-volitional preparation of a fighter.

Today, large Krav Maga training centers exist in the United States, where Krav Maga is studied by police officers from the Illinois and California police departments and FBI agents.

Krav Maga in Tomsk

Many thousands of people have been trained in the easy-to-learn, no-nonsense self-defense techniques of Krav Maga. In addition to being studied by members of the Israeli security services and the Israeli police

There are also civilian versions of Krav Maga that anyone can practice. Here we are talking mainly about teaching a certain set of self-defense techniques and the corresponding knowledge necessary for self-defense. As in the combat version, attacks on the attacker’s vulnerable spots are widely used, and techniques for defending against edged weapons and other means of attack are also studied. Attention is paid psychological preparation and legal aspects of self-defense. Often training takes place outside the gym.

However, the basis of Krav Maga remains the same for everyone - to quickly and effectively emerge victorious from any fight with minimal damage to yourself and maximum damage to the enemy. Krav Maga is a real martial art that has won and continues to win in uncompromising struggle and brutal battles with the enemy.

Today, there are many Krav Maga federations that contribute to the further development of this type of martial art in the world. Many foreign armies send their specialists to Israel to train Krav Maga, and police officers and intelligence officers of friendly states also come to study.

reference
Krav Maga (Hebrew: קרב מגע‎ - “contact combat”) is a military hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel. Although modern types of weapons are studied in Krav Maga - rifles, pistols, it refers to combat with physical interaction with the enemy, as opposed to fighting with weapons at a distance.
The founder of the system, Imrich Lichtenfeld (1910 - 1998), began teaching hand-to-hand combat in the Haganah after arriving in Palestine. After the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, he became the chief instructor in physical training and hand-to-hand combat at the Israel Defense Forces Combat Training School. Lichtenfeld served in the IDF until 1964, constantly developing and improving his system. After his retirement, Krav Maga was adapted by him to civilian realities.
Until 1980, all Krav Maga practitioners lived only in Israel and taught within the Israeli Krav Maga Association. Since the eighties of the last century, Krav Maga has gained fame and popularity in other countries, primarily in the USA.
Based on Wikipedia materials

Krav Maga (English Krav Maga, Hebrew קְרַב מַגָּע) is a military hand-to-hand combat system created by Israeli security forces. Krav Maga techniques are aimed at quickly neutralizing a threat to life. There is military Krav Maga, police Krav Maga, as well as self-defense options for children and, for example, flight attendants.

The name of the system is translated from Hebrew as “close combat.” Despite this, Krav Maga combines hand-to-hand combat with the use of small arms. There are no clear rules in the system, just as there are no differences in training for men and women. The basic rule is maximum effectiveness of each technique. The emphasis is on hitting the eyes, groin, head strikes, plus developing the fighter’s ability to improvise.

Since Krav Maga is not only military, but also civilian, students are taught to soften the impact on the enemy in relation to the situation, so as not to exceed the limits of necessary self-defense.

Techniques and features of Krav Maga

As with any hand-to-hand combat system, Krav Maga has its own stances and strikes. It all starts with a “waiting position” (the body is straightened, arms are lowered, feet are parallel to each other, shoulders are wide apart). The stance can have several variations (primary, neutral, internal or external defense), but in general it is the basic position for most defensive and offensive actions.

Movement during combat is carried out with a cross step, a jump step and a substep step. The first movement consists of a sharp low step, when the far leg overtakes the near one (legs are crossed) while moving towards the opponent. A jump step is a way out of a waiting position. The movement is performed with a jump. Finally, the step-substep means that when moving, the far leg will take the place of the near one (in relation to the opponent). Accordingly, the attack begins when the far leg is in place, and the near one is already striking.

Kicks in Krav Maga can be direct (moving forward and from bottom to top), side (snap or moving in a semi-arc), from top to bottom or to the side (varieties of “stomping kick”) and defensive. During a side impact, the body rotates along its axis to enhance the impact. Defensive kicks are performed similar to kicking with a horse's hoof. The main task of a fighter is to learn to quickly withdraw his leg after performing a technique.

Hands usually perform techniques such as hook, uppercut, straight, as well as “hammer” and “chop”. "Hammer" is a blow bottom fist, while the “chop” is performed with the edge of the palm.

Defense in Krav Maga is divided into internal and external. The external one operates on the “inside-out” principle; accordingly, the deflecting limb (forearm, arm, leg) is directed towards the attacker. The internal defense redirects the opponent's movement, crossing the attacking limb at a right or sharp angle.

In addition to punches, other techniques such as twisting, leveraging and pressing are performed. The last technique allows you to make your opponent fall to the ground. At the same time, the fighter himself is strictly forbidden to fall to the ground: staying on his feet at any cost is one of the basic principles Israeli hand-to-hand combat system.

It will be useful for those who plan to study Krav Maga to know that there are no techniques as such in this type of combat. Rather, a set of actions and tactics that are brought to automaticity. Strikes, blocks, painful locks, releases from holds - all this is combined into a complex, and often completely individual. Improve your physical fitness Not only will learning the Krav Maga technique help, but also reviewing your diet. We recommend paying attention to the so-called one, based on the principle of product compatibility. In fact, this is not really a diet: just a set of rules developed by nutritionists at Israeli clinics about which foods are best consumed together and which ones should not be eaten.

History of Krav Maga

Although Krav Maga is not considered a martial art, the Israelis have their own system of hierarchy and belts.
As for the Israeli intelligence services, Krav Maga is studied in the army (Tsahal), border troops, counterintelligence (Shabaka) and a number of other special forces. But at Massada they don’t specifically study Krav Maga. Analysts and information collectors work there, not operatives.

The Israeli method of self-defense originated not in its historical homeland, but in the former Czechoslovakia. Back in the 30s of the last century, Imi Lichtenfeld developed his hand-to-hand combat system to protect the Jewish community of Bratislava from the Nazis. Later, the founding father moved to Palestine, where he taught in the Haganah, and since 1948, Krav Maga has been included in the training of Israeli soldiers. Lichtenfeld served in the army until 1964, developing his system, and after retirement he adapted Krav Maga to civilian settings.

Krav Maga only came out of Israel in the 80s. At first, the experience was adopted in the USA, and after the collapse of the USSR, training centers Israeli battle without weapons they opened in Russia. Today, Krav Maga training centers exist in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Omsk.

There are sparrings in Krav Maga, contrary to popular myth, but since there are no prohibited techniques in the system, they often joke about the lack of competition in this “martial art” that the only reward for the winner will be a bill from the intensive care unit, and the consolation prize for the losers will be a free funeral .

Not every person is destined to be a fighter.
If the spirit is weak, then neither hand-to-hand combat techniques nor weapons will help.

Imi Lichtenfeld
creator of the art of Krav Maga

In order to survive the enemy's ring after returning to the promised land, the people of Israel needed a strong fighting spirit. But besides him, Israel was also helped in numerous conflicts by its own special martial art-"Krav Maga".

History of Israeli martial arts

The Jewish people do not need to turn to examples of the best martial arts in order to beautifully present the legend of victories. Their history from the beginning to the present day is happening in full view of the whole world. One of the most mysterious and effective Israeli techniques is "Krav Maga"(with emphasis on the last syllable). The translation is simple - "contact combat". As it should be with real soldiers, there is no external beauty in technology, everything is emphasized modestly and with a strong character.

« All our equipment speaks for itself in battle"- every crawler will gladly repeat to you, and special suit You don't even need to wear clothes. The whole secret of Israeli technology is its inconspicuousness: simplicity, modesty, unexpressed emotions. It is best if the enemy does not suspect until the last moment who is in front of him. The fight itself lasts about 5-10 seconds , or with rare exceptions 20 seconds(yes, yes... so little). Krav Maga is not a martial art at all, it is a tool and a survival guide. Who else but the Israelis should know about this?

The school was not created in calm times. Its creator is Samuel (Imi) Lichtenfeld (years of life 1910-1997 ). He began to manifest himself back in early years like a circus wrestler and boxer. He was fond of swimming, gymnastics and became one of the best wrestling specialists in his native Slovakia. Lieftenfeld received his temper and willpower even before the Second World War, when he defended the interests of the Slavic-Jewish ghetto in street fighting and hiding from anti-Semitic groups. A little later, having escaped from Nazi-occupied Europe, he distinguished himself with good service in the Czech Legion of the British Royal Armed Forces.

At the beginning of the war, Samuel joins the Haganah military organization, and 1948 year becomes a general instructor in physical training and Krav Maga. Only in 1978 year Lichtenfeld and his students developed Krav Maga into the category official standalone combat system and created the Israeli Krav Maga Association. Even after retiring, Samuel continued to improve his technology and even adapted it for the civilian population.

The powerful Israeli army, the mighty MOSSAD and the harsh everyday life of the planet's hot spots: everything contributes to making strong and serious men in all corners of the world interested in the amazing Krav Maga technique.

Less is better...

The main characteristic of Krav Maga can be considered its strongly-maximum contact. In circles professional fight they often say:

“Real hand-to-hand combat is one-on-one, excluding weapons.”.

Stand on a flat, spacious area and win!

Israeli fighters have long ago learned this principle and are equally proficient in hand-to-hand combat and fight against weapons and against him. For Israel, this practice is more relevant than anywhere else on the planet; they shoot here regularly.

Aesthetics and “visual charm” are also not pursued in Krav Maga, only important maximum efficiency and the essence of the battle. As the “bearded” army wisdom says: “It’s better to have no karate than to have a friend TT in your pocket”. The beauty of a sparkling sword and demonstrative poses are not in this technique.

They practice attack and defense options mainly not in the gym, but in places where they can close to reality, because you have to wait for the real enemy and mortal danger on the street, in entrances, in cars. The main part of the training is staged attacks a whole group of opponents in various places. There are absolutely no clothes or special uniforms in Krav Maga; everyone is dressed in civilian clothes - just like in life.

Another feature of the technique is no competition. The traditional classic type of combat in real conditions of attack on the street is not possible. By definition - two strikes and it becomes clear who will be the winner and who will be trampled. Krav Maga focuses on fastest possible neutralization the enemy, and the secondary action will be based on the circumstances: run away, finish off or neutralize the next attacker. This is why group practice is so important here.

Contact fights in the form of classical competitions are completely absent. The reason is simple - competitions require rules, and in war conditions they are clearly an unacceptable obstacle to victory. Krav Maga style - repeated practice of techniques for neutralization. Soldiers who are fluent in this technique with pinpoint precision are able to neutralize almost any enemy in different conditions.

Considering that Imi Lichtenfeld became famous as a wrestler, wrestling is not at all paramount for his technique. After all, being put on the ground means becoming vulnerable, and the main thing here is not to miss the moment. Exit: intercept, focus on countermeasure, knock out and, without relaxing, check the situation. Technical set "Krav Maga" - mix cocktail party from a wide variety of techniques. Only the most effective, the most lightning fast. For the same reason, this style cannot be considered as a separate type of wrestling. It is rather a school and the main thing in it is methods and principles.

In the pursuit of perfection, as always happens, you have to endure many failures along the way. The emphasis in Krav Maga is often that it “a school of survival, harsh as life itself”. The technology, of course, is adapted, first of all, to the terrain, and it’s no secret that Israel is a country with a high danger coefficient. And therefore, people here tend to more often expect trouble in everyday life. But expectations and reality are not always equal. It can be said that Krav Maga strives achieve success in the most brutal situations and therefore, fighters are always on their toes. What looks like normal everyday life in Israel takes on the form of danger in other countries.

You need to understand that Krav Maga was created as a training system for military fighters, and they often die. It turns out that they need to be prepared in the shortest possible time, and the effectiveness should be maximum. Only fulfillment of specific tasks, only the essence. In non-military conditions, such “peaceful” training usually turns into endless training and work on situations that 95% , will not happen. Cravers, without a bit of self-deception, like to repeat that in Krav Maga you cannot follow the path of self-improvement. And really, how is this possible if any shootout can end everything? Therefore, Krav Maga is good as intensive course You obviously won’t have to prepare and do it all your life.

To prevent the technology from becoming too limited, Lichtenfeld tried adapt it for “civilian” life, immediately after retirement. However, the essence and character of Krav Maga remained intact in each version. For example, it is not possible in any case to track the progress of a fighter’s training if there is no adapted training in real life. In war conditions, of course, this is quite easy to do, which cannot be said in peacetime. In free combat, crawlers do not strive to show themselves clearly enough. If the art concerns killing techniques, then fighters do not appear in competitions very often. This approach is inherent not only in Krav Maga, but in all military systems.

There is one more disadvantage in this technique - its youth. The fighters who practice it in our time often come from other schools and inevitably the boundaries of the fundamentals of the technique are blurred. Also, if in ordinary martial arts one can talk about levels, belts, for the development of the system, then “Krav Maga” completely excludes all this, completely removing the competitive nature. This reflects poorly on the skill level.

"Krav Maga" simply adapts to the "courses" of self-defense and aims to take the best from various martial arts, for maximum efficiency in a real war.
