Biathlon World Cup 2018/2019 - schedule and stages
The first stage of the World Cup will last until December 9, as mentioned above. Afterwards, the athletes will have time to rest and “rearrange their forces,” but the second stage of the Cup will start on December 13, in Hochfilzen, Austria. In total, the season will include nine Cup stages and the World Championship, which will be held in Östersund, Sweden.
It is impossible not to say that the Cup stages will not be hosted in Russia this season, although Tyumen undoubtedly hosted guests last season at the highest level. Even Martin Fourcade was surprised by the country’s hospitality, although he was the first to want to go on strike and refuse to travel to Russia due to the doping scandal.
But the Cup stages will be held this year in Canada and the USA - the biathletes have not been there for a long time. By the way, the holding of the stages is still under a big, bold question mark, because some teams refuse to go overseas to compete. They insist that the stages be moved to the European continent, otherwise they threaten to simply boycott the competition.

It is too early to sum up even the initial results of the first stage, because out of eight planned races, only two took place. In the mixed singles, our guys, Ulyana Kaisheva and Evgeniy Garanichev, managed to come seventh. Irina Starykh, Alexander Loginov, Dmitry Malyshko and Katerina Yurlova-Perkht took part in the mixed relay from Russia. The team managed to take fourth place.
