Katya Yurlova personal life. Sports Achievements of Ekaterina Yurlova

Multiple winner of European Championships. Seven-time champion of the Russian Federation.

Ekaterina Yurlova was born on February 23, 1985 in St. Petersburg. The girl was brought into sports by her father, Viktor Yurlov, who later became her personal trainer. It was dad who noticed his daughter’s athletic talent. After Ekaterina mastered cross-country skiing, her father introduced her to her biathlon mentor Alexander Ivanovich Suslov, who trained more than one generation of talented Russian biathletes.

Ekaterina Yurlova entered the World Cup race for the first time in 2008. A year later she won a silver medal at the European Championships in the relay race. The athlete competes in competitions from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

Yurlova's next World Cup took place in the last trimester of 2010, where the biathlete took only fifteenth place in the sprint in Kontiopahti. Things didn't go well for the entire Russian team, but already the next season she became number two on the team.

In the individual races in Khanty-Mansiysk, Ekaterina Yurlova fell out of the top ten in the mass start and took sixth place in the sprint. At the last stage of the pursuit race, the girl managed to take fifth place. In the overall standings of the 2011 World Cup, the biathlete took seventeenth place.

After this, high hopes began to be placed on Yurlova. The athlete obviously progressed compared to the rest of the team members. Katya trained as part of the base, preparing for the new season, which turned out to be unsuccessful.

In 2014, the biathlete planned to participate in Olympic Games, held in Sochi. The girl trained individually and was not part of any of the two women's teams formed to prepare Russian biathletes for the Olympic competitions. Later it turned out that the individual approach prevented Ekaterina from joining the national team. When selecting athletes, coaches focused only on team members.

At the World Championships in Kontiolahti, Finland, on March 11, 2015, Yurlova sensationally won the individual race, making no mistakes at the 15-kilometer distance. This best indicator at the tournament. Czech biathlete Gabriela Soukalova walked the distance smoothly and made only one mistake in the last shooting. The Czech was already preparing for triumph, but Ekaterina appeared on the track, walked perfectly on the targets and showed good speed, and after the fourth milestone she won against the Czech with a difference of 28 seconds.

In the 2016 season, Ekaterina again achieved success. At the January stage in Anterselva, the Russian biathlete became third in the sprint, and thanks to accurate shooting at the last line and the mistakes of her rivals, she eventually won the pursuit race. At the end of January of the same year, Yurlova managed to lead the Russian team to third place in the relay.

Ekaterina Viktorovna’s sports biography is diluted with creative weaknesses: the athlete writes poetry. The girl even presented her personal collection “Waiting for Spring.” Yurlova believes that this is only the first stage in her development as a poet.

Fans call Ekaterina the most extraordinary and creative person Russian biathlon. The biathlete received higher education with a degree in sports psychology. The knowledge acquired at the university helps to concentrate on competitions today. In addition, the girl speaks English.

Catherine! you are the most courageous and worthy Russian biathlete!

Katenka! We watch and cheer during live broadcasts only for you)) The opponents are very strong, and biathlon is an unpredictable sport). And, nevertheless, the whole family wishes you easy victories, good mood, health to you and your loved ones!

I’m amazed by your courage, Ekaterina... to defeat a German woman like that by shooting in front of other people’s stands! I think the fans will forever remember your triumph as part of the relay four!

Kate! Make sure that the potential opportunity to win an Olympic medal is realized as a KM medal!
If the OIs have become like this, then there is nothing to regret about them!

Katyusha, don't be upset. Of course, we have all already seen you in the prizes, but apparently you were a little hasty. It's OK. You gave us confidence that our team can fight for victory in the relay if the first stage is strengthened.

Katyusha, today you fought like a lioness. Your mistakes are an accident. 1.5 minutes on the track is not an accident.
Darling, this is the only way to become champions. After all, if all 4 stages were Yurlovs, otherwise only one. Don't ask too much of yourself. You gave us hope for victory. Both silver and gold shone ahead. Thank you.
Merry Christmas. Health and love.

Katyusha! Thanks for the victories! Thank you for the fire in your eyes during the races! Success, good luck, podiums! We believe, we love, we support!

Katyusha, congratulations on your VICTORY! They really cheered us up for the New Year. Good luck at the KM competitions and the Olympics.

Yurlova - Come on!

Katyusha! Don't read or take negative comments to heart! We really believe in you! You are a bright, cheerful person, a purposeful fighter! I wish you health, success in racing, clean shooting and family happiness!

Katenka! Thanks for the good stalking! Good luck, victories!

Katyusha. Good luck to you in this very difficult Olympic season. Don't pay attention to anything. If you can, win; if you can’t, just fight for a better position. I believe in you.

Katyusha! I was pleasantly surprised. Well done.

Katyusha! It's time to hit the podium!

Unfortunately, this season there was only one professional in the Russian women's team at the World Championships (not counting servicers) - Ekaterina Yurlova. Thank you, Katya, that at least one person was not shameful to look at! I wish you success at the Olympic Games 2018!

Katya you are the best

cs627430.vk.me

Katya, thanks for the win! You are smart for not giving up and now together with your father you are achieving great success. You are smart, beautiful and the best athlete!

Ekaterina, you are smart! It's obvious how you've improved in the last races, and here you go long-awaited victory! Hurray! Congratulations!

It's terrible what happened at the relay! Dear retired athletes! give way to the young. it's time for you to babysit your grandchildren

Katya, I’m very happy for you, I believed in you even before the Olympic season. I'm sure the next season will be yours!

Our biathlon is plunged into darkness. Fans are in mourning. But suddenly a miracle happened - your victory! Thank you, thank you, thank you for not letting me lose faith in my favorite sport. Your victory is like a fountain with sparkles against the backdrop of the scorched steppe. Take care of yourself and keep fighting.

Katyusha, repeat!

Katyusha is the pride of St. Petersburg! Thank you for the happiness and tears of joy of a biathlon fan, for your hard work and perseverance in achieving your goal! Good luck and victories in all your endeavors and competitions!

Ekaterina Yurlova, the unexpected leader of the biathlon team, gave an exclusive interview to Sports.ru on the eve of International Women's Day - about studying English on social networks and psychology at the institute, tears and obsessive songs, a debut book of poetry and tension in a team that still lacks medals .

About the perfect weekend

I definitely won’t be lying on the couch. It's better to have something busy during the day. Ideally, something that you can do for pleasure.

If there are training camps or competitions, the main thing is to get a good night’s sleep, take a walk, and do some homework. In general, to recover after the race. Today (Monday - Sports.ru note) the girls went to the city, and I bought souvenirs. Mugs, badges, magnets with World Cup symbols.

I love shopping, but according to my mood, according to my desire. Now there is no such desire yet. I buy clothes abroad, and at home I buy interior and design items.

About reading and music

I don’t like science fiction too much, I’m closer to classical literature and, let’s say, life literature. But not novels, but psychological books - about destinies. Now I started reading Voinovich - “The Gadfly”.

I can listen to anything, but within reasonable limits. And pop, and rock, and sometimes even chanson - well, when we’re driving in the car with dad. He is a lover of chanson.

About English

I study English on Facebook. More precisely, I’m practicing. I didn’t pay enough attention at school, which I later regretted. When my first trips abroad began - to the first stages of the IBU Cup - I realized that without a language it was unthinkable to even just register for competitions, check in, or even just communicate with someone.

First I took the tutorial and remembered general rules, school curriculum, and then foreign friends advised social media. There we started communicating in English - we had to get used to it. I won’t say that I speak fluently now, but it’s enough for communication.

I’ll explain myself at the press conference without any problem. True, I can get confused when they speak very quickly - please slow down.

About the Internet

I am registered on VKontakte, in “My World”. But I use the Internet little - an hour a day at most. Sometimes people are offended that I don’t answer them. Don't be offended - I just don't have time to get to the right page.

Bookmarked: email and skype. I have Youtube on my iPad and iPhone, but due to speed problems I rarely watch the videos. It's annoying when the rollers slow down.

About tears

After an unsuccessful race, I get upset, of course, but I rarely cry. During the cooldown, I analyze it, trying to look for the positives. In biathlon you need strong mental toughness to wait for the moment when everything really works out.

Success gives me confidence - not stardom, namely good mood. Bad results carry negativity, but it is short-lived. It’s difficult to unsettle me - I know how to control myself.

About thoughts in the race

Often completely extraneous thoughts become attached. Sometimes I’m driving and singing songs to myself. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it throws you off: you try to concentrate, but the song is spinning in your head.

At the turn of the century there are absolutely no thoughts. You concentrate on the target, on control. Just think a little about the result, the lag - that’s it, you failed the job.

About the press

During the race there is no time to think about what the journalists will write. I try to react equally calmly to both good and bad reviews. A good one is nice, of course. In criticism, it happens that I see something constructive that is worth paying attention to.

I don’t deliberately look through the press. Parents are watching - dad loves to read what they say about his daughter. To be honest, I like to look at the photos - I come across some cool ones. Thanks to those who make them.

About glasses

I'm wearing glasses not for vision, but simply to protect my eyes. There is a very strong wind in Khanty-Mansiysk - and your eyes get tired in the evening, plus the difference in lighting affects it. The property of glasses is to relax the eye muscles. I come to the room and take pictures. I only put it on if I suddenly sit down at my laptop.

About progress

The current headquarters and I are closely involved on a personal level - we communicate, analyze shooting, equipment. In addition, I independently improve my gymnastics and cool-downs.

I can’t say that I ran this year. There were seasons when she showed good speed, but her shooting let her down. There were seasons when it was the other way around. It’s just that now I have experience and some kind of inner confidence.

About the role in the team

It doesn't matter to me what place I occupy on the team. I see that people respect me as an athlete and as a person. I enjoy my work. Places, ratings, points – I don’t pay attention. I don’t look at the total at all. I determine my position there by my mass start number.

About poems

I wanted to make a small surprise, but I see that almost everyone already knows about it: yes, my book of poetry is indeed being prepared for release. I just want to show that biathletes are capable of not only skiing and shooting. I don’t show off, I don’t stick out – consider this on behalf of all biathletes.

About psychological education

It helps. There are times when, with my knowledge, I can control myself better. The team, of course, needs a psychologist. And me personally too. A person you can talk to. You don’t have to get advice from him - just talk and feel at ease.

We didn’t communicate with Sveta on mixed doubles. I think everything will work out for her. In her situation, a professional approach is exactly what is needed - I don’t want to get involved here. Conversations and consolations from me are useless here.

About tension in the team

I don't ask this question. The season is not the best, and maybe the worst. Of course people want awards. But they are not there – and there is no relaxation, no lightness. This is an atmosphere of fishlessness - everyone is tense and depressed. In general, relations between people are good.

The home stands don't bother me. People sincerely support and believe - how can this interfere? It only helps.

About the mat

I'm an ordinary person, nothing sublime. Mat is part of the Russian language. Sometimes it's easier to say one word to be understood. This is only in everyday life - you can’t get rudeness out of me in public.

About future

Biathlon is almost my whole life. It lasts the whole year and from year to year. In addition to it, I will highlight my house, or rather its improvement: design, interior.

I didn’t think about ending my career - I’ve only been in biathlon for five years. I wonder how it will go next. The final goal is Sochi.

I’ve thought more than once about what will happen after. I want to start a family, live a happy life, doing what I love. I really like interior design and journalism. Now I’m reading, writing poetry, and then maybe I’ll also join your group.

I see how hard it is for Olga (Zaitseva) and Anna (Bogaliy), who constantly miss their children. I don't really want to be in this situation. I have to take care of my child myself, without being distracted by anything. First you need to do everything in sports, and then plunge into the family. Although I won’t make any guesses - if anything happens, my husband and I will look for a consensus.
