How to practice table tennis when you're alone. Table tennis: training for a beginner Table tennis sports training system

Table tennis, whether training or a professional match, is extremely exciting sports game. Only the most intense fitness can match the load that players receive during classes. This sport is accessible to a wide range of people, since a special table can be placed in the house, on the street, on the beach, in the office or in the gym. How to learn to play this popular form of tennis?

Basic Rules

Regular tennis or table tennis, training for beginners should be devoted to learning the rules. The first thing that novice tennis and healthy lifestyle fans should do is draw lots. You need to throw the ball on the table so that it comes into contact with both halves, bouncing twice. Next, the players must hit the ball until one of them makes a mistake by missing the serve, sending the ball into the net or onto their side of the table. The right to make the first serve during a match goes to the winner.

For a person to master table tennis, the training should include several types of games. The first type is the long game, in which the game continues to twenty-one points. The short game stops when the winner reaches eleven points. Points are counted to the player's account one at a time in case of winning the drawing.

The first serve is carried out according to a principle similar to the toss. The thrown ball must make contact with both halves of the table. When hitting the net, the player is given a second chance to serve. If he fails a second time, the right to serve passes to the opponent, who also receives a bonus point.

Exercises for Beginners

Anyone who wants to learn how to play table tennis must not only learn the rules of the game, but also correct technique. To fill your hand, you should regularly perform simple exercises, developing reaction and eye.

First you need to take the racket and put it on it horizontal surface tennis ball. It is necessary to keep the projectile on the surface of the racket, preventing it from rolling onto the floor. It is especially useful to do this exercise on the go.

The second exercise will help the athlete understand how the ball behaves after being hit by the racket. You need to fill the ball for a long time, making downward strokes so that the projectile bounces off the floor. It is also useful to stuff the ball from the bottom up. Beginners can perform this exercise while standing still, but in the future they should learn how to hit the ball while moving around the room.

For next exercise You will need to fold the tennis table so that its halves are perpendicular to each other. Acting as a kind of wall, the vertical surface will help you practice regular strikes and other techniques.

Group or personal training table tennis will help you develop your existing potential and gain excellent physical fitness, eliminate stress and, most importantly, learn a popular game, which, moreover, is Olympic form sports. Players of any age and gender can enjoy a match with a friend or acquaintance, all they have to do is want to. Participation in amateur training involves renting a special table tennis table or purchasing a subscription to classes with an experienced coach.

A professional approach to this sport requires more, namely regular training, including warm-up, mobility and accuracy exercises, training with a sparring partner, and constant improvement of techniques. The above activities allow you to warm up your muscles and, with the help of special exercises develop your striking technique, hone your skills and count on victory. Group classes are suitable for players who want to learn all the intricacies and master the basic techniques. Our club has special table tennis equipment that helps improve the quality of the game and the degree of professionalism. A robot trainer is one of the best ways to consolidate the success of your achievements in table tennis. This device is good option for training in the absence of opponents, it serves the balls independently. The equipment is an electronic mechanical device that is used to improve striking techniques. Of course, he is not able to completely replace his playing partner, but he allows him to hone his skills.

Such a simulator is required for independent training of a beginner, and it also allows you to correct shortcomings in the game, if any. The benefits of its use include the development of reaction speed and endurance, attention and dexterity. The device can help you learn how to move correctly on the playing court, learn the techniques of complex serves, and simulate various situations. Table tennis tournaments

Tournaments are an integral part of table tennis training because they help build character and show your skills during unusual situations. These events allow you to develop mental resistance to stress and improve yourself in all techniques, competing with the best opponents. Often, during the game, athletes cannot cope with their emotions, but participation in tournaments and championships helps solve this problem. If table tennis is not just a game for you, tournaments are the best way show yourself and learn the techniques of other athletes. To win competitions and championships, it is not enough to play well with constant acquaintances, the strength of whose blows you have already determined and thought through a system for protecting your side of the table along with an attack on the opponent’s territory. It is necessary to train with competitors who have different level preparation, hitting power, agility and accuracy, playing table tennis with an equal or stronger opponent is important, this allows you to adapt to new athletes and learn more about different techniques. This is why tournaments are considered necessary in the table tennis training process.

This game is popular all over the world due to its many quality characteristics, including the ability to develop coordination, eye, dexterity and motor skills. Table tennis helps you control your body, it improves your health and relieves stress. If you decide to attend such training, pay attention to the equipment, because during the training you need to move around the table as quickly as possible, and this should be comfortable. Sport equipment is also chosen with special care, because not only the ease of play, but also the accuracy of the strike depends on the quality of the racket. Your trainer will definitely tell you about other nuances; he will also help you choose equipment and create a suitable training schedule, having previously assessed your physical capabilities.

From this article you will learn how in a sport such as table tennis is happening training. You will also learn about the key mistakes that table tennis fans make in their training.

The fact is that the training process has a certain structure, which most amateurs are not aware of. About this structure and how to improve the quality of elements through proper organization training process will be discussed in this article.

The principle of training in table tennis

There was an excellent video on this topic on our blog, from which you can find out how I plan a training session and a training week in my table tennis group.

From this video you will learn:

  • Why a week is the optimal period for planning the training process
  • How long should a training block be?
  • Do you need a break during training?
  • How many training blocks should you plan for one week?
  • How to balance your workouts throughout the week

And now more about training blocks during one training session for table tennis fans.

In almost 100% of cases, the first 2 blocks are standard - this is a physical warm-up, for which 10-15 minutes are allocated, followed by a game warm-up.

I will dwell on the game warm-up in more detail.

It is needed in order to get involved in the game, feel the ball, and warm up additionally. In general, prepare your psyche and body for the main part of the workout.

For professionals, warm-up takes 10-15 minutes and is standard.

  1. First, rolls from right to right are performed for 1 minute
  2. Then one of the athletes begins to perform a topspin on the right diagonally, and the second performs a block. Top spin is performed in one rhythm for stability for 2-4 minutes.
  3. After this, the athletes change roles.
  4. After this, the athletes change the diagonal and begin to warm up on the left half of the table. Warming up on the right diagonal takes a total of 5 to 8 minutes.
  5. The same thing happens along the left diagonal. First, 1 minute of play with rolls, then one tennis player performs a stable top spin, after 2-4 minutes they change.

The same type of warm-up is suitable for experienced and technical amateurs, only in my opinion, for amateurs, each part of such a warm-up should take 1.5-2 times longer, since two amateurs need more time to gain stability at the beginning of each table tennis training session, than professionals.

For amateurs who have been playing relatively recently, this type of training warm-up will not be suitable, since the pros keep everything at a fairly high level of mastery of the elements of table tennis.

How can an amateur warm up while training in table tennis?

First, 5-7 minutes roll from right to right diagonally, then 5-7 minutes roll from left to left diagonally.

In this case, the task is to keep the ball on the table for as long as possible and do it in the same rhythm.

One of the biggest mistakes table tennis fans make in training is that they warm up and play the same way as during a score game. How many times have I seen how, playing diagonally from right to right, 2 amateurs, without agreeing with each other, suddenly begin to make finishing blows, cuts, serve, counterattack, etc.

Dear table tennis fans, remember that this approach is WRONG!

The point is not that this cannot be done. Can. But you get absolutely NO BENEFIT from such a game. Roughly speaking, you are simply wasting training time during which you could improve your elements every day.

After all, 99 out of 100 amateurs want to achieve at least slight progress in table tennis technique in training and results in competitions. And this cannot be done without improving the quality of the game. And the quality of the game begins with the elementary quality of the game, rolling from right to right diagonally.

So remember. 5-7 minutes of even rolls along the right diagonal without any amplification or mixing with other elements. Maximum attention to technique, stability and uniformity of rhythm.

Likewise along the left diagonal.

After physical and game warm-up, 2 working blocks are performed during table tennis training.

As a rule, each of them is devoted to working out one aspect.

For example, one 1st work block may be devoted to movement, and the 2nd to playing some kind of link.

For table tennis professionals, their training often includes 3 or even 4 working blocks, but this method is not suitable for amateurs, since professionals spend 20-25 minutes on each block. Lovers,

  • firstly, they train less
  • secondly, just like during warm-ups, they need more time to work on one or another aspect of table tennis

After 2 working hours there is usually a block of counting games, or training in serving and receiving serves in table tennis.

Thus, a table tennis fan’s training should consist of an average of 5 blocks:

  1. General warm-up
  2. Game warm-up
  3. Working block No. 1
  4. Working block No. 2
  5. Count game

Naturally, this is a rough plan. Each individual workout may have a slightly different structure. For example, there may be only one working block, and the score game will take longer, or the last block will be devoted not to matches, but to training serves.

I would also like to focus a little attention on the work blocks.

Each of them is divided into 2 parts.

  • Part 1: You perform some kind of training task
  • Part 2: Your partner performs some task

Table tennis training This is exactly what happens - tennis players constantly change roles. First, one trains something, and the second acts as a sparring partner, then the roles change.

This is very important point, which amateurs miss. Due to a misunderstanding of this point during training, both amateurs simply exchange blows. Everyone is trying to train something different. Remember that this approach does not work, and you will not achieve any progress through this approach.

If you are in the developing stages of technique, and this is where most hobbyists are, then I will give you some recommendations.

Never mix a large number of elements in one training session. If you are not yet very good at top spin on the right, then you need to concentrate on its execution, and therefore one of the working blocks should be devoted specifically to it.

  • Pay maximum attention to technique and stability
  • Perform top spin to the right diagonally in the same rhythm. Your partner should try to take your topspin steadily, with one force and without attempting a counterattack.
  • There is no need to try to perform a top spin on the right while moving if you cannot consistently, confidently and in the same rhythm perform a top spin 10-15 times
  • Top spin should be performed with 50-70% effort. With more effort, you will not be able to perform topspin consistently.

Remember that at the stage of a beginner and even an average table tennis fan the main task- this is to set a certain level of quality of play in training, which will contribute to the implementation of your arsenal in score games. And the quality of play in a sport like table tennis is achieved only through such training aimed at improving stability, rhythm and ball control.

Re-read the last 2 sentences again!

And to make it more clear to you how to practically implement this, I suggest you watch one of our videos dedicated specifically to the topic of stability of topspin execution in table tennis during training.

That's all for me today.

Write in the comments about how you structure your table tennis training and which ideas from this article you will use first.

P.S. February 26 at 18:00 Moscow time I'll make a new one free online seminar “3 Proven Techniques for Table Tennis Fans”.
At this event we will talk:

  • About submissions
  • About accepting serves
  • About one strategic trick that allows you to beat stronger opponents more often

And of course, answers to the accumulated questions!

As we said above, the study of technique must begin with the basic technical techniques: backhand, serve, forehand. First, one technique is studied, for example, a backhand blow, and only then, when it is simply mastered, one must move on to studying another technique, improving the already mastered technique at each lesson. A variety of technical techniques must be developed from the very first lessons, paying attention to Special attention poorly digestible techniques. During the lesson, you must first work on one technique, then move on to learning another. You should not start learning techniques in a two-way game.

Beginners should take their first steps in table tennis under simplified conditions: learn to perform hitting movements without the ball, then with the ball, sending it against the wall with the racket. It is necessary for a social instructor (coach) or simply a more experienced comrade in table tennis to first briefly describe to the beginner the blow that he will have to perform. Next, at the table you should demonstrate the blow being studied to the beginner, first at a normal pace, then at a slightly slower pace, so that the student can notice some details of the movement when striking. Then you need to show the blow again at the usual pace. The demonstration must be technically competent and clear. It must be accompanied by a brief explanation. The purpose of such a demonstration is to give the beginner a complete understanding of the blow, which will allow him to quickly and better master this technique.

Then the hitting movement is demonstrated without the ball in the conditions in which the student will begin to perform it. After explanation and demonstration, beginners are given the opportunity to perform the first movement of the shot without the ball themselves. While they are performing this movement, the social instructor (coach) corrects the beginner’s movements as briefly and clearly as possible. It will be very useful if the instructor (coach), standing behind his student, supporting his hand armed with a racket, helps the student perform the first strokes correctly.

When you have achieved basic mastery of a strike without a ball, you can move on to performing the same strike with the ball, sending it with the racket against the wall.

Take a racket in your hands (don't forget to check the correct grip), a ball, stand at a distance of 2.5-3.5 m from the wall. Turn your right side to the wall, right leg place it slightly in front of the left. The body should be free from any muscle tension, legs slightly bent at the knees. Throw the ball up to the height of your head, carefully follow the ball with your eyes and do not let it out of your sight until it hits the floor. After doing this exercise several times, having learned to look at the ball carefully, try to hit the ball as it falls with a backhand kick so that the ball flies into the wall. Do not try to immediately hit the ball deflected by the wall; Better figure out how hard you need to hit the ball so that it flies off the wall exactly where you are standing. After a few tries, you'll obviously be more or less successful. Now try hitting the ball again, sending it into the wall again. Do not forget; that you will do this much more successfully if you look at the ball rather than at the wall. When the ball bounces off the wall, try to hit it again. Don’t pay attention to what kind of blow you get - sliced, twisted or flat: for now the main thing for you is to learn to look at the ball, get used to the ball bouncing off the racket, “feel” how the ball lands on the racket, start learning a little movement in preparation for a strike, develop coordination of movements.

You should not hit too hard; you must balance the strength and direction of your strikes so that the reflected ball returns to the same place.

A little time will pass and you will begin to coordinate your movements with the flight of the ball, learn to “keep” the ball in play, reflecting it off the wall several times in a row.

Once beginners have become somewhat accustomed to the bounce of the ball from the racket and have gained some skill in executing strokes, they should move on to exchanging the studied strokes directly at the table. It is very useful if the teacher, taking a seat at one half of the table, sends the ball to the student with not strong, but accurate blows. If students play on the table with each other, they should try to direct the ball to each other so that it is convenient to strike the blow they are studying.

It is not recommended for the lesson leader to draw the attention of his students to all the details of the movement at the very beginning of training; you should dwell only on the basic elements of the movement. However, it is his duty to ensure that gradually, from lesson to lesson, the student’s movements when performing strikes are more and more improved, so that strikes from any position are performed technically correctly. The task of the students is to consciously approach mastering strikes, learn to analyze the technique of their execution, and be able to find and eliminate their mistakes. Only on the basis of a critical assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of one’s technique can one achieve high mastery. In order for the student to develop the ability to notice and reveal certain technical defects in the execution of strokes, it is recommended that during classes the social instructor (coach) instruct one of the players to monitor the quality of the exercises, the play of his comrades and give this player the opportunity to speak at the analysis lesson, and then correct his performance yourself.

Over time, through repeated repetition, the techniques should become motor skills.

The study of technology is closely related to the study of tactics. When teaching a player each individual technical technique, an instructor-social activist (coach) is obliged to explain the tactical purpose, advantages and disadvantages of this technique, demonstrate a tactical combination using this technique, ensure that when performing and after performing a particular technique, the player takes a tactically advantageous position position.

In order to develop in beginners such important skills as the ability to carefully look at the ball, hold the racket correctly, move around the table, and strike the ball with a racket in various ways, it is useful to include special group exercises in the training program.

Here is a table of some group exercises for table tennis students. A number of exercises, after the student has completed them correctly in classes under the supervision of an instructor (trainer), can be successfully performed independently at home.

Table of some group exercises for table tennis students
Guidelines

Ball catching exercises
1. The student throws the ball straight in front of him to a height of 50-70 cm and catches it with his right hand, palm facing up.

2. The same exercise, complicated by the fact that the ball is thrown from behind the back, from under the elbow of the left hand, or is directed slightly to the side, etc.

3. The student throws the ball from an open palm with his left hand (palm position as when serving) and catches the ball with his right hand.

4. The student throws the ball from an open palm with his left hand, as when serving, and catches the ball from the side with his right hand, moving from right to left (elements of serving movements).

5. Throwing the ball with your hands between partners. Two students stand facing each other at a distance of 3-4 m and alternately throw the ball to each other, directing it under right hand at a height from waist to shoulder.

6. Throwing two balls. Same exercise, different. that each partner throws the ball to the other at the same time.

7. Juggling two balls.

8. Juggling three balls.

9. Juggling two balls with one hand.

Ball catching exercises are aimed at developing the ability to look at the ball.

In all exercises with the ball, participants must carefully look at the ball.

It is necessary to carefully monitor the correctness of the game movements in exercises 3 and 4.

Racket exercises
1. The student holds the racket by the head in his left hand and takes it with his right hand, observing the correct grip.

2. The same exercise is performed by those practicing without looking at the racket (with their eyes closed); The correct grip is determined by touch.

3. The student takes the racket with the correct grip, after which all fingers of the right hand, except the thumb and index, are moved away from the racket handle and makes several sharp swings of the racket (for example, fans it like a fan, hits an imaginary ball, etc.) .

Exercises with a racket are aimed at strengthening the skill of holding a racket correctly.

The purpose of the exercise is to strengthen the skill of holding a racket firmly but relaxed with your thumb and forefinger.

Studying game movements by element m
1. From the starting position, students make a turn to the right with a step forward with their left foot and take the position for a right strike.

2. From the starting position, the practitioners make a turn to the right with a step back with their right foot and take the position for a forehand strike.

3. From the starting position, the practitioners make a turn to the left with a step forward with their right foot and take the position for a backhand strike.

4. From the starting position, the practitioners make a turn to the left with a step back with their left foot and take the position for a backhand strike.

5. Continuation of exercise 1 - moving forward and right while maintaining correct position for a forehand shot.

6. Continuation of exercise 2 - moving back and to the right while maintaining the correct position for a forehand strike.

7. Continuation of exercise 3 - moving forward and left while maintaining the correct position for a backhand strike.

8. Continuation of exercise 4 - moving back and left while maintaining the correct position for a backhand shot.

9. Throws to the right.

10. Throws to the left.

11. Forward throws.

12. Back throws.

13. Participants line up behind each other’s heads at a distance. 3-4 steps in the starting position for the game. Then, at the instructor’s command, they lunge forward on their right leg, simultaneously sending their right hand armed with a racket forward, and their left hand back, after which they return to the starting position (elements of movements strong blow left).

14. Left push movements;
15. Movements of a forehand twist.

16. Movements of a cutting blow from the right.

17. Backhand twist movements.

18. Left slice movements.

The instructor must monitor the relaxed position of the body, monitoring the correctness of all elements of movement (transfer of body weight to supporting leg, turning on her toes, turning the torso, bending the pushing leg when throwing, etc.).

The exercises are first performed at a slow pace. You should not move on to the next element of the movement until the previous element is performed correctly (for example, you should not take a step until the student learns to correctly bend the supporting leg and transfer the body weight to it).

In exercises 5, 6, 7 and 8, the student is given a final point or landmark for movement.

Throws are performed by those practicing according to a visual signal.

The movements are performed from a place, the blow is struck at an imaginary ball.

In the future, the exercises are complicated by introducing elements of the player’s movement (turns, steps).

In all exercises to master the technique of movements, the instructor must monitor the coordination of movements and the correct return to the original playing position.

Exercises for hitting the ball with a racket
1. Repeatedly toss the ball to a height of 25-30 cm with the palm of the racket.

2. Repeatedly toss the ball to a height of 25-30 cm with the back of the racket.

3. Repeatedly tossing the ball to a height of 25-30 cm, alternately with the palm and back of the racket (hand rotation movements for forehand and backhand).

4. Repeatedly toss the ball to a height of 25-30 cm with the palm of the racket using a cut blow.

5. Repeatedly tossing the ball to a height of 25-30 cm with the back of the racket using a cut blow.

6. Throwing the ball with a backhand kick between partners. In the hall, a rope or net is stretched at a height of 80 cm, and students stand in pairs on both sides of the net at a distance of 3-4 m from each other and at a distance of 1.5-2 m from the net. By throwing the ball to each other at waist height, they try to keep it in the game as long as possible.

7. The same exercise, but throwing is carried out with cut blows from the left.

8. The same exercise, but throwing is carried out with cutting blows from the right.

9. Hitting targets. Two targets are drawn on the floor with chalk or marked in another way - circles with a diameter of 0.5-0.7 m, the centers of the circles are at a distance of 1.5 m. The practitioner stands at a distance of 5 m from the targets with his left side towards them and sends a tossed kick with a twisting blow from the right him the ball to the designated target.

10. The same exercise, performed from a distance of 4 m with a backhand twist.

11. The same exercise, performed with a backhand slice.

12. The same exercise performed with a forehand slice.

13. Partners stand opposite each other at a distance of 5-6 m. One of the partners directs the ball from the air with twisted blows, the other reflects them with cut blows, then the players change roles.

14. Exercise “goalkeeper”. A goal 3 m wide is conventionally marked on the wall. One of the students (“goalkeeper”) stands at a distance of 1-1.5 m from the wall with his back to the goal he is defending and reflects the balls thrown into the goal with a racket.

15. Participants (5-6 people or more) form a circle with a diameter of 5-6 m. The instructor or one of the more experienced players stands in the center and alternately sends the ball to each participant. The latter must direct the ball back to the center with a certain blow indicated by the instructor.

16. The same exercise, but the player standing in the center directs the balls not one by one, but in a breakdown, forcing them to receive them unexpectedly.

17. Game against the wall.

Playing against a wall allows for exercises of varying complexity, from learning to hit a push at the first stage of training and ending with practicing some simple tactical combinations on a table pushed up against the wall or on a table with a special training board installed close to the net.

Exercises for hitting the ball with a racket are intended to accustom students to the rebound of the ball from the racket during various strikes.

The kick is made at chest height from the air, and not after the ball bounces off the floor.

The blow is made at the level of the abdomen.

The flight speed of the ball thrown into the goal is gradually increased. The width of the goal is subsequently increased to 5 m. The balls are sent into the goal at a height from the knees to the chest. The instructor must ensure that the throwing technique is correct.

Of course the list training exercises is by no means exhausted by those listed. The lesson leader can develop and apply a large number of similar exercises. However, public instructors and trainers should be warned against excessive abuse of group exercises, which in no case can replace personal demonstration and individual study of individual techniques. In addition, a large number of group exercises can reduce interest and weaken attention to classes.

Here is an approximate summary of a lesson for beginners on learning the backhand push.

The main objectives of the lesson are to teach how to hold a racket, to teach a backhand push, to become familiar with the starting position and the main playing area at the table.

Players take turns playing in pairs at the table, each trying to direct the ball to the opponent’s backhand. From time to time, a social instructor (coach) takes a seat at the table, conveniently, accurately directing the ball to his student’s backhand.

The final part of the lesson - 10 min.
Slow running and walking with relaxation exercises. Brief final comments on the lesson

In subsequent lessons, students, repeating and consolidating the blows they already know, learn other technical techniques. An approximate sequence of learning techniques is given in the table on page 118.

After basic acquaintance with all the basic strokes, it is necessary to improve them at every lesson, in playing according to patterns and in free throwing of the ball, and subsequently in playing with a score.

In order to ensure that, along with improving the technique of each strike, the accuracy of strikes also increases, it is advisable to introduce accuracy exercises in further training when developing the strike technique.

The best exercise for accuracy is the so-called target game. For this purpose, 30 X 30 cm squares - targets - are outlined in the corners of the table with chalk. Those practicing, for example, a backhand shot, i.e. sending each other the ball under a backhand shot, should try to direct it not just under left hand partner, but at the same time hit a specific target - a target.

At first, beginners will hit targets quite rarely, but this should not confuse either them or the lesson leaders. After some time, thanks to target practice, players will gain a certain accuracy in the game. Using targets, you practice not only the accuracy of various strikes, but also serves. A perfectly accurate serve is especially valuable in doubles play.

It is necessary to observe the play of strong, technical players and analyze their shots. You must not just admire the game, but carefully study the way the racket is held, at what height the strike is made, on what part of the ball it is struck; it is necessary to evaluate the nature and duration of contact of the racket with the ball when various types rotations, what kind of rotation the ball receives depending on a particular technical technique. It is especially important to monitor the movement of the brush. What measures does the player take to neutralize the effect of rotation when receiving the ball, etc. You must first analyze one technical technique, and then, having mastered it, move on to careful observation of another element of the technique.

As you master the elements of technique, you need to observe again and again good blows strong players, noticing more and more new details in their performance of this or that technique. This will help you quickly understand the essence of the technique of modern table tennis and will help you quickly master this technique.

Along with teaching the technique of the game, the public instructor (coach) must, during theoretical and practical classes, while watching the performances of the strongest players and subsequent analyzes of their game, familiarize students with the most general outline with basic principles of table tennis tactics. Everyone who plays table tennis must clearly understand the tactical purpose of a particular blow in the game, for example, a serve, a twisting and cutting blow, a long and oblique blow, etc. He must be familiar with the basic tactical combinations and learn to use them tactically correctly in the game tactical techniques he has mastered. Finally, the player needs to learn to carefully observe the opponent’s actions and predict his responses, and accordingly take the most advantageous positions near or at some distance from the table.

Knowledge of the basics of tactics certainly contributes to the technical improvement of a novice player and greatly increases his combat effectiveness in score games and performances in competitions.

When an athlete has studied the backhand and forehand, learned how to serve, the most effective defensive techniques, familiarized himself with the basic principles of tactics and knows how to play the game with a score, the first stage of training can be considered complete.

One of the sports that attracts with instant speed of movement around the court, fast rotation of the ball, masterful serves and variety tactics defense, this is table tennis. Training is accompanied by strength loads, which ensure ease and excellent reaction during the game.

Requirements for the athlete

The main stance of a table tennis player is on his toes, in a semi-crouched position and with his knees slightly bent. The ease of movement that spectators observe from the stands is due to the enormous power loads. In the main stance position, the athlete sometimes has to move from one to two kilometers at the table for, for example, seven sets. Calculate how much you have to run for several, or even 5-7 meetings!

How are potential team players selected?

Anyone can play table tennis. But the selection of team players is carried out, as in any other sport, according to its own criteria. Coaching practice has shown that of the children aged six to nine years old, only one in five continues training. Of those who study at the age of 10 or 12 years, two can withstand the load. Therefore, standards for physical training. This usually occurs in spring and autumn. Moreover, they look not so much at the result itself, but at how the athlete gains momentum.

Stages of mastering playing techniques

  1. Formation motor abilities, as well as visual image, practicing relaxed movements and removing stiffness in movements, mastering smoothness and accuracy.
  2. Mastering techniques in developing motor skills. Errors and unnecessary movements are identified and eliminated, coordination is “polished.” A set of techniques is being practiced.
  3. Organizing counting games with partners, involving them in participation in competitions and thus developing the skills of an athlete to concentrate on the game without reacting to distractions.
  4. Improving technique, practicing the individual “handwriting” of the game and the athlete’s tactical techniques with an analysis of successful, recommended techniques and mistakes. Determining technical and tactical combinations and tactical variations of the game, bringing the most successful techniques to automatism. Accumulation of player skill and experience.

Training Basics

Sport loves persistent and purposeful people. He makes only such people strong and heroes. It’s not for nothing that they say that everything in sports and in life is achieved through hard training. To achieve results in table tennis, you need to learn how to monitor the correctness and accuracy of actions on the gaming table during the game. The basics of playing technique can be worked out and consolidated only through constant training with repeated practice, first of all, of exercises simulating the movements of hitting the ball, attack techniques of the opponent, etc. The rest is added due to reaction, coordination of movements, speed of movement at the table and, of course, a reserve of endurance and perseverance, determination and efficiency.

When starting training, one of the main tasks should be set - to learn to “feel” the ball, racket and table, navigate and predetermine the possible direction of the ball’s flight after hitting the table surface.

Remember, the most important task is to keep the ball on the table, thoughtfully and with an insidious blow throw the ball towards the opponent to achieve a result.
